Another click about life

Published by Eugenia 19 August 2011 - 0:51 in blog,life,Nadia

8 days ago, I would have written this post with an angry tone. But today I am writing it starting with a big THANK YOU! This THANK YOU is for a smart boy - Mark Zuckerberg – which launched in February 2004 the well known Facebook.

The story starts and ends in the same time simple and short. Today, August 18th 2011 I submitted my request to delete my personal Facebook account. How come? It doesn’t really matter.

What actually matters is the click I did regarding the responsibility I took in front of myself and my child in the moment I choose to write anywhere about our lives.

8 days ago I acknowledged that what I am writing about myself I can manage in a way or another. But what happens with the things I write about my child/children?

Right in that moment when I realized this thing, some questions for which I have no answer came into my mind:
Why do I write anything about my children’s lives?
What my answer will be to the following question: “With which right I tell anyone things from their lives?”. This question could come in the next 20 years from Nadia or future children.
My childrens’ lives can be influenced somehow by the thing I write about them?

And the list could continue.

So, today I took the decision to minimize the usage of social networks and also to limit the posts on this blog to life ideas, traveling, photography, different events from my life and any other things that are not direct related to my children’s lives.

In this story I have seen many advantages. The most important ones are: the trust of my children about the fact that I learned hot “to keep my mouth/ mind closed” regarding their lives and extra time I can spend with them.

Who wants to hear more about Nadia’s life adventures or wants to see how her brother’s look, either comes and visits us, either we settle an appointment outside, in reality :)

Move, Learn, Eat!

I found tonight the “Move” movie and loved it so much that I decided to post it here. Then I saw there are two other movies just as good and together they represent a part of the life we want to experience from now on.

So … MOVE! This world is too beautiful to just sit behind a damn computer screen…

Congratulations to Rick Mereki, Tim White and Andrew Less. They did a fabulous job!

Children Learn What They Live

Published by Eugenia 29 July 2011 - 13:02 in blog,life,Nadia

One of these days Nadia goes to the “adults” library that we found in our new rented house. We thought it’s nicer to call ourselves in front of her adults rather than grownups, so don’t try to make funny jokes around the adult books, ok? ;-)

As soon as I saw her and asked what is she doing there, she pulled 2 of the books, one felt down and with the other one she started running in the house giggling.
Coming after her I pick-up the lost book and I saw the title “Children learn what they live”.
I open it and I find on the first pages the poem written below. The rest of the book gets into the details of every line, but the poem itself is the essence. Therefore since I opened this book I keep thinking about those verses in order to discover how is my child living.

Enjoy!

If children live with criticism, they learn to condemn.
If children live with hostility, they learn to fight.
If children live with fear, they learn to be apprehensive.
If children live with pity, they learn to feel sorry for themselves.
If children live with ridicule, they learn to feel shy.
If children live with jealousy, they learn to feel envy.
If children live with shame, they learn to feel guilty.
If children live with encouragement, they learn confidence.
If children live with tolerance, they learn patience.
If children live with praise, they learn appreciation.
If children live with acceptance, they learn to love.
If children live with approval, they learn to like themselves.
If children live with recognition, they learn it is good to have a goal.
If children live with sharing, they learn generosity.
If children live with honesty, they learn truthfulness.
If children live with fairness, they learn justice.
If children live with kindness and consideration, they learn respect.
If children live with security, they learn to have faith in themselves and in those about them.
If children live with friendliness, they learn the world is a nice place in which to live.

DO YOU KNOW HOW IS YOUR CHILD LIVING?
