Children Learn What They Live

Published by Eugenia 29 July 2011 - 13:02 in blog,life,Nadia

One of these days Nadia goes to the “adults” library that we found in our new rented house. We thought it’s nicer to call ourselves in front of her adults rather than grownups, so don’t try to make funny jokes around the adult books, ok? ;-)

As soon as I saw her and asked what is she doing there, she pulled 2 of the books, one felt down and with the other one she started running in the house giggling.
Coming after her I pick-up the lost book and I saw the title “Children learn what they live”.
I open it and I find on the first pages the poem written below. The rest of the book gets into the details of every line, but the poem itself is the essence. Therefore since I opened this book I keep thinking about those verses in order to discover how is my child living.

Enjoy!

If children live with criticism, they learn to condemn.
If children live with hostility, they learn to fight.
If children live with fear, they learn to be apprehensive.
If children live with pity, they learn to feel sorry for themselves.
If children live with ridicule, they learn to feel shy.
If children live with jealousy, they learn to feel envy.
If children live with shame, they learn to feel guilty.
If children live with encouragement, they learn confidence.
If children live with tolerance, they learn patience.
If children live with praise, they learn appreciation.
If children live with acceptance, they learn to love.
If children live with approval, they learn to like themselves.
If children live with recognition, they learn it is good to have a goal.
If children live with sharing, they learn generosity.
If children live with honesty, they learn truthfulness.
If children live with fairness, they learn justice.
If children live with kindness and consideration, they learn respect.
If children live with security, they learn to have faith in themselves and in those about them.
If children live with friendliness, they learn the world is a nice place in which to live.

Nadia’s Log; Earthdate: 24072011

This evening we can officially say that Nadia no longer eats breast milk :-( This is because Eugenia put her to sleep tonight and she didn’t ask for milk anymore. The “process” took exactly one month after we moved in the house we’re living in right now and a more detailed post about this will follow ;-)

In the same time she passed from walking held by the hand by one of us, to walking by herself! This is a great accomplishment and we are very happy that it happened so quick, as we expected her to “walk” us more than that. But she stopped walking us at 1 year, 2 months and 2 days, after one month and one day since her first steps by herself.

Dear Nadia, welcome in the world of the bipeds and we hope those two little legs will take you to wonderful places! :D

We live and this is taking all our time

Published by Eugenia 21 July 2011 - 9:30 in blog,life

Not long ago, I heard this phrase in this form: “We live in Romania and this is taking all our time.” Many times I heard it from people that were frustrated and upset for living their lives in Romania, angry on other Romanians or simply their life. I don’t recall if these guys did something about it. But this is not the thing I want to talk about.

Late last night, before going on the land of sleep, I had another revelation. Not an extremely important one, but pretty important to please me and make dream so nice :)

We are more and more people that LIVE and FEEL. And this makes me very very happy. This theory applies from individual to general. OK, maybe among my fellows I know many, but also among my fellows’ fellows they are more and more, and so on.

I see, meet and read daily about people that leave the system in which they lived until now, just to feel that they are doing something in this life. Some of them go beyond their limits. One of them is Paul Dicu, which passed the finish line of Marathon de Sables, one of the toughest competition in the world: 250 km in the desert, in 7 days, with all the luggage you might need (including water) in your backpack. Câmpenii
left the comfort zone that the managerial jobs offered them in Romania just to live in the middle of the jungle, with goods and bads only to rediscover themselves and feel what they are living. Alex Găvan is facing all the challenges of the 8000 m climbs without supplementary oxygen and Sherpa support just to feel the happiness and joy of this life. Or Lola that “works” on a dream factory where feelings make the beads she paints to be so beautiful.

Lewis swims at North Pole in a deep 4200 m black water having “only”-1.7 degrees, or Roz that leaves on her own with a boat over Atlantic or Pacific in a journey for feeling that she is living and on the same time to show the world that The Earth is so wonderful but in so much suffer because of the pollution.

The thing I learned from these stories and not only is that life deserves to be lived, in our own way that offers us a state of happiness and joy. And by doing this, our kids will see us and the world will be seen through much more eyes as being wonderful and fascinate. And this can mean a single thing: a happier future for all of us.

Try to meet people that love life and live it. They are many around us but the only thing we have to do is to open our eyes and see them. But be careful, this is a contagious thing. The more people you know, the more intrigued you will be to go exploring your inner self and not only, which results’ can make you happy someday. This doesn’t mean that life will be only milk and honey. On the contrary, the way to happiness has its tough moments, maybe some of them unbelievable at the starting point.

Kids are triggers for these visions. Follow them with all you body and mind to see how they explore this world they arrived in, live together the happiness of small discoveries, study their behaviors through which they manage to walk or talk. These behaviors are indestructible proves that man is a human being designed to succeed and be persistent.

But this is possible with only one condition: to really really want it. Without desire, the way seems to be impossible or it actually is. Without a strong desire, we might think that everything works against us, people want the bad things for us to happen and “life is a bitch”. And look how we get to ourselves, to our desires, to what we want and think we can do, to how we say to ourselves more than we feel that we are small, that we can not change the world and the only thing we can do is to resign ourselves that this is it and how some Romanians say: “Leave it like this ’cause it works!”

Finally everything is about our own person, our believes, experiences and wishes. It depends on us to take it slowly, step by step looking for the happiness and dream that can become our reality.

Camino de Santiago

Published by Eugenia 19 July 2011 - 9:08 in blog,hobbies,Travelling

For 3 days already Sabin headed slowly on a initiatic walk, some say, Camino de Santiago step by step.

From the many routes he could choose, he took the one called the Camino Frances of about 780km that he will make in approximately 35 days.

Passing over the discomfort state that you know and sometimes seek only to reach the comfort, I think this “walk” translates into a wonderful life experience that you will really feel with your entire body and soul.

I call an experience like this, a life experience, life that worths a single thing, to be lived.

I am happy Sabin that you live to the maximum, without compromises, just like I heard you so many times guiding others to do. I wish you “Buen Camino!”

And one more thing Sabin: Memory is the only heaven from which we can not be expelled said a German writer – Jean Paul Richter. So, come back with many nice memories :)

With love from Vama Veche

Few weeks after we came back from Piracanga we took a short ride to a place that we love, Vama Veche.

Because the temperatures were a bit low, we just shoot some pictures, ate the famous pancakes and meet a very nice gentleman that made Nadia a nice pen portrait.

Less words and more pictures this time :)
